Thanks for that.

The PC sleeps overnight, and when I awake it in the morning the right hand monitor has slipped it's screen to the left ?!?! What on Earth ? I'll now have to fiddle with the horizontal controls on the monitor again.

Didn't crash when I tried the game yesterday. Encouraging, but I'd not say it was proof all was well. Probably not going to be able to retry now until Tuesday/Wednesday.

I've found the time to play the game to the end and whilst I can not guarantee it won't go wrong in the future, have to say it's coped so far. Even when I changed all the graphic options to their highest setting. Have to conclude the previous board had some kind of flaw. Thanks for the help.

Oh as a parting comment, Speedfan tells me "Core 0" and "Core 1" gets up to 50° at which point the icon changes to a flame. So I guess something is getting a little warmer than it ought.

I can't see there can be any more. The new card seems to be working. Can't guarantee I won't run into a problem in the future but for now I think we have solved it as best as we can. Since the old card/software only fails on higher graphic demands, I may consider putting it into my woman's PC instead. Better than it lying idle. Pity it couldn't be fixed though.
Cheers.
