I recently had my internet upgraded to fiber and after that I get a BSOD when my computer begins to connect to my network. This happened immediately after the upgrade, so I decided to get a newer wifi dongle since the one I was using was a few years old. This solved the problem for a little bit but the problem came back after a week or so.

I have reinstalled Windows, done network resets, and even unistalled the network adaptor driver from device manager which solved it for about a day before the BSOD started coming back.

When I am not connected to the internet, my computer is perfectly fine, but when I plug in my wifi dongle and it finds my network and begins connecting, my computer freezes and the BSOD pops up after a few seconds.

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop.
Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator.
When the program opens check mark Select All Then hit GO
Please post the log in your next reply. Attach or copy and paste, whatever is easier for you.

Speccy Scan.

  • Please go here and download Speccy.
  • Install and run the program.
  • Upon Completion:
  • Hit File
  • Publish Snap Shot
  • A link will appear, post that link.

Zip and attach MiniDump Files. See This link for instructions.

MTB.txt is the MiniToolBox results and NewFolder.zip is the zip files from my minidump folder for the BSOD. My speccy publish didn't work, an error pops up saying "The server name or address could not be resolved".

While I look over the dump files, I'd like you to run a program similar to Speccy:

Get System Info Log.

Include in your next reply a Get System Info log.
Save it to your desktop when complete.
Once you have the file on your desktop, then upload it here, and Here.
Copy the URL after your report is loaded.
Then send us the link.

Just as a test (you can reinstall later), uninstall the following:

Code:
Dump: 090824-6562-01.dmp (07.09.2024 23:06:13)
Code: 0x133 - DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
Process: nordvpn-service.exe, probably caused by: memory_corruption
Third-party modules in the stack: rtwlanu.sys
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE

NordUpdater (HKLM\...\{6E35DB82-3D19-4DD6-B8CB-F082815FDE18}_is1) (Version: 1.4.4.821 - Nord Security)
NordVPN (HKLM\...\{19465C24-3D5D-4327-B99F-3CC0A1D38151}_is1) (Version: 7.28.4.0 - Nord Security)

Reboot your machine after you remove Nord.

Create and run batch file.

Open a notepad and copy the entire content of the code box below.
Do not copy the word code!
Paste the txt into the notepad. Save the file to your desktop as Flush.bat
Now you will right click the on Flush.bat and run as administrator.

This batch file will reboot you computer!! Reboot is needed to complete the process.

Code:
@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Just did this and it looks to be working so far. If the problem persisted, I would have blue screened immediately after connecting to the internet.
Will I be able to reinstall NordVPN again?

You can test. Sometimes programs just become corrupt. Test with nord installed and see if it happens again, let me know. 👍

Looks like there is a previous VPN driver still on the machine that could be causing a conflict.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\wireguard.sys

Open Elevated command pompt copy and paste the code below and hit enter:

Code:
del /F /Q "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\wireguard.sys"

Upload new dump files, also Let's do this. Let's see what Non MS drivers are installed.

Also,
Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then right click
Capture.PNG
Run as Admin.
After the scan is finished then click on File----Then click----Save
The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to leave it this way.
Attach the file in your next reply.
If the file is too large, then use catbox.moe or Ufile.io and send the link in your next reply.

I'm not getting autoruns.arn as the default file name, though it is a .arn file type.

Attached are the non-MS drivers.

Upload the.arn After the scan is finished then click on File----Then click----Save

and the .html file please. 🙂

Attached is the .htm file and the .arn file.

Nevermind, when I try to attach the files, it says they don't have allowed extensions.

Do you use SAMSUNG Mobile USB Connectivity Device to connect online?

If not then Right click Autoruns and run as admin, type Samsung in the search bar of autoruns, then uncheck samsung related items, then reboot.

Since I can't connect to the internet from my computer, I'm using my phone and transferring any downloaded files over to my PC via wired connection. Maybe that's how that Samsung stuff popped up.

After unchecking those boxes, do I just reboot without closing the program, or do I have to save these changes somehow?

Go ahead and uncheck the samsung items and the other ones as well then Just reboot. Also run this batch file before rebooting. Let me know how it goes.

If the BSOD happens again, upload fresh dump files for me please.

It is a very long list of drivers, would a .txt file be okay? I can't paste it here because I'm accessing the forum on my phone.

And my computer still BSOD after running the networkreset batch file, uninstalling OneDrive, and unchecking all shown fields in Autoruns. Attached is the .zip of the dump.

I had to uncheck the Samsung items, though, so I can transfer files from my phone to my PC, but it still blue screened with those unchecked.
