Hi,
I'm sorry in advance if my explanation of things isn't super clear, I'm far from an expert when it comes to computers sadly.
A couple of days ago I turned on my PC only to be greeted by a blue screen saying:
"Recovery
0xc0000428: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file"
I scrambled across the internet for a few days trying to find a solution and eventually tried something I found in an article.
I made a bootable USB drive and then booted up the computer from it. I clicked on "Repair your computer" and navigated to the command prompt option. From there I typed in "Bcdboot C:\windows /s D:\", which if I remember correctly started up the OS. I now have access to my computer, but everything is working way slower than it was before. Biggest two issues though have been:
1. the computer doesn't want to shut down, it keeps resetting,
2. if I do forcefully shut it down and turn it back up again, I get the same blue screen error as before, after which I have to boot from the usb again and then it works.
I'm really not sure if there's anything I can do, so I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer. A friend of mine told me to just reinstall windows, which I am prepared to do, but I would just like to check first that I'm not being a complete moron and there's actually a simple solution to this.
