Almost .... if you could answer the following that would be appreciated.

Which software should be run periodically to prevent malware? Malwarebytes + Adware Cleaner + JRT + ZHP Cleaner?
Also, which backup or imaging software would you recommend? I currently use AOMEI Backupper

Malwarebytes & Zemana, you should run once a week, or alternate say malwarebytes week one and Zemana Week two. As far as JRT ZHP cleaner, you should run a sweep with those once or twice a month.

AOMEI Backupper is just fine, one that is highly suggested in many forums. (y)

Not only was the malware removed but my 8 year old laptop runs like new. Something I only thought possible with a factory reset & OS reinstall.
In the process, I learned a lot about malware removal & got great maintenance tips.
I think I just attended Mal U ( Malware University )

Thanks to jmarket for getting the ball rolling and to malnutrition for excellent results in a timely fashion.
