hello im new to this forum so first of all thank you for your time in advance, and now to my problem so here whats wrong, not long before i changed my cpu cooler from an old zalman to the pure rock slim of the be quite, after i assembled everything back together i got one problem, after playing for a while(doesnt happened with a pattern of 30 minutes or something for example)my screen goes black my keyboard and mouse goes of(they are illuminated so thats how i can tell)and i also lose sound, but from what i can see my pc is still running,my cpu cooler is running my ssd is running even the graphics card cooler is running and it seems to happen while i play 'heavy' games like bf1, assassins creed and so on, when i play league of legends nothing happens no matter how much time i spend playing i tried reassemble the parts but it still happens,my pc built is fx8350 ,2x8 giga ram 1600mhz, radeon rx 580 8gb,psu theramltake smart RGB 700 watts and my mobo is 760GM-HDV asrock no oc is done or anything else, i tried updating my gpu's drivers and i even tried downgrade it but it still happens i and cant find out what is wrong.also my pc is fresh format cause i thought that this might fix the problem.any ideas?(sorry for my english)

Hello

What about the temps? Have you checked that?
hello i just did and unfortunately it says that my mobo is in 116 celcius...is that possible?but my bios says 36 degrees, the temp wah taken with speccy and open hardware monitor, speccy says 116 and ohmonitor has 6 temps which 4 of them shows over 100 (and one of them matches the speccy 116) and two of them at 36-51 degrees

yes, trust BIOS temp readings over anything else especially Speccy, it has a long known bug in reporting wrong temps, a bug their forum members often report but the developers just don't fix.

you have done all the stuff we would normally suggest:- reformat, reassemble, new/old drivers, the PSU has enough wattage.

that really only leaves those games themselves, something they are doing, causing the black screens, like bad memory management, or incompatible hardware.

have you noticed any difference with the games that cause the issue and the games that don't, like screen resolution, Steam, Punk Buster, online server - that is, something one game uses that the other doesn't?

when you changed coolers, did you also change the thermal paste?
and just confirming, this was also happening with the old cooler?

in case it is temp related, remove the side cover and have a fan directly blowing into the chassis and see how that effects things. (long shot but hey)

the games by themselves are ok as i said before it only happens at the most 'heavy' games which it comes to mind that psu cant produce the voltage the gpu needs when the games are at their peak, like bf1(which is a really heavy one at least for my pc)as i said lol, hots, 2d games(dont laugh :D ) and games like these are ok no problem at all but the problem now is that the pc doesnt shut off like it used to from the faulty psu that i mentioned from my old built, it stays on but i lose all of the above that i mentioned that is why i cant understund what is wrong. unfortunately this has happened before with an older built that i had whitch literally made me change all of my pc parts and in the end it was the psu that it was faulty, since i dont want to go through all of this again (and the cheapest mid lvl psu cost at least 60 euro )i thought i might ask other people to tell me their opinion..as for your suggestion i already did it (lol) and i even touched parts of the mobo to see if it was really hot and as you guessed it everything was fine,no hot parts....also changed the paste as you said cleaned the old one from my cpu and attached the new. so my last question if you please ,is there a way to test my psu to see if its ok?anything!with software or not..i cant spend another 60 euro with a chance that psu is ok....and its almost new its 2 years old,and one last thing about the temp, that reading i get(116°)i get it from 3 differrent software is that normal?THANK you so much for your time guys, really.

you can get PSU testers, like these; https://www.lifewire.com/test-a-power-supply-using-a-power-supply-tester-2626160
the last one i got years ago cost about $25.
they are the only thing that has reliably tested PSU's, apart from physically changing over to a new one.
there is no test available to test them internally, connected up, and along with the paper clip test, they can still be faulty but appear to 'work'.
