Better wifi card for Hp ProBook 450 G3?

I am having wifi range issues with my laptop and was wondering if anyone can help me find a better wifi card for my laptop. I would get a usb one but I don't have a free usb port on my laptop. The current card I have is a Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. Is it possible to upgrade this card with one with better range. My mainboard is a HP 8101.

Do you know what size the WiFi card is?
Mini PCI, Mini PCI-E, Mini PCI-E Half Height

Are you connecting to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz?

The 2.4 GHz band provides coverage at a longer range but transmits data at slower speeds. The 5 GHz band provides less coverage but transmits data at faster speeds. The range is lower in the 5 GHz band because higher frequencies cannot penetrate solid objects, such as walls and floors.

I think its operating at 2.4 GHz. I am two rooms away, the router is in the dining room, I have the kitchen in betwwen my room and the dining room. But I can see the router from my room. Not sure what form factor it is heres a pic of it.

What operating system and version are you using?

Looks like a Mini PCI-E.

Some things to try

After you complete this above try that for a while see if it helps.

Reboot he Modem and Router

Did that help?

The card is capable of receiving 5 GHz. Now if the modem and router that you have is capable of transmitting at that is an other matter.

I'm running Windows 10 pro 64. I'll give the steps a try and report back tonight.
