Ive looked up for a while about solutions and the only one i can find is to check if im riunning windows 64 bit which i am so im unsure why my availible ram is so low. ill play a simple game like league of legends or even apex on low graphics and it will max out my memory on my task manager. has only happened recently and im unsure of the changes.

on a side note I've just switched to a SSD as my main drive and as such when I try to click on links it cannot find chrome and I have to copy the links and paste them in manually and idea on how I can change where my PC looks for chrome would also be appriciated

Can you not add multiple replies but instead give us a chance to get back to you first, thanks.

Your last post clearly shows that something is using up all your RAM, either that or there is a hardware fault.

Open Task Manager, Click on the Memory tab, click on the Processes tab, give it a minute for things to settle down then make a note of what is at the top of the list and how much RAM that each process is using.

sorry about that.

Atm chrome is at the top with 1gb usage at about 45%. which would support the 2.25gb available in system info.

and thanks for the fast response

Something definitely amiss then as your reply #5 pic says that 14.9GB is compressed and in use.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Couple of things going on in Speccy;

Going offline now but will check back tomorrow morning.

Your CPU is overheating.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

There are no chipset drivers for the MB shown to have been installed, as soon as Windows has been installed you must install the latest chipset drivers for the MB as the chipset is what enables the board to be able to communicate with all the other hardware, after the chipset drivers you install the storage/SATA drivers and then the GPU drivers.

Please note that chipset drivers for new MBs must be installed from either the installation disk that shipped with the MB or direct from the MBs download centre, if you do not do this Windows update may download and install the wrong drivers and cause you no end of trouble.

You are running low on free storage space on drive E: why this is bad is explained below;

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: E:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 18D31D5F
Size: 925 GB
Used Space: 875 GB (94%)
Free Space: 50 GB (6%)

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update, on a mechanical HDD you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times and on an SSD between 10 and 20%, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which also puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

i have changed the powerplan back to balanced and have freed up space in my hard drives but I'm unsure about the chipset drivers I have installed the correct ones from ASUS but am unsure about where to locate them and I keep getting errors.

It would help if you told us what the errors were.

The drivers will be found in your Downloads.

Can we have a new Speccy url and a MTB log

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us

i Installed the chipset MB files for my MB from the ASUS website and I've now got a folder containing these files

i assumed id need to run asussetup.exe so i ran that and got o the stage where is wants to choose a destination folder by default it want me to choose this

But when i click next i get this error

i looked into the file destination it was trying to make but there is no intel folder and my program files(x86) is on my E drive, so i looked for the intel file in my E drive and found my Intel file containing only this

i tried setting the destination folder to this folder and got the same error im unsure of where to go here i dont want to make the folder name its looking for incase i mess suomething up.

PS. here's the new snapshot

While we look at the latest Speccy url can you do the MTB log for us.

NB: Chipset rivers should be on the same device as Windows, even if on a separate partition, remember Windows needs the chipset divers on boot.

Not sure why that is, did you save the file as txt first and then click on the Attach files tab

Have you noticed how much the memory usage and CPU temperature has dropped, even with a second screen attached.

Question, do you know why you have the following on your computer;

4/12/2021 4:12 AM;: Driver Support-RTMUpdater
4/15/2021 8:21 AM;: Driver Support-RTMScan
4/15/2021 5:44 PM;: Driver Support-RTMRules

yes i can see the temp is better thanks and no I have no idea why I have those should I remove them?

yes I can see the file looks like its attached while I'm writing the reply but when I send it the file isn't there it is a .txt file

this might be a stupid question but why are the install dates on those files in the future?
