This only happened today I noticed that my PC automatically used the monitor speakers instead of the audio port on my PC (I usually detach my audio cable from my headphones end of day and plug it back when I start playing so the first few minutes of my computer use of the day has no sound). When I plugged in my headphones I can only hear static.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling my audio driver but it doesn't work. I've also tried disabling/reenabling the audio on the BIOS side but that hasn't worked as well. Any help?

Hi! A while ago it just had static when rotating the plug or when it's plugged in. Now I've done booting in linux to see if it'll detect (no dice) and visually checking on the mobo if it's fried or something (it looks okay?). Now when I booted it up there's no static anymore but the jacks aren't working.

Both aren't working. I might have to RMA this motherboard. I tried reinstalling the driver but it doesn't work. It also doesn't get detected by linux. Bought a USB soundcard for now just to get work done.

Yup I have RMA-ed the board. Good thing there was a spare AM4 mobo at my place. Took a while to get it working but it's okay now. Thanks!

Not sure yet. I'd have to follow up with them. The board is a Gigabyte B550M, surprising that the sound just failed on me, but I guess that's just luck.

OK, sounds like a plan.
Let's close this for now, at least until the new mobo in installed.
Let us know how you get on. 🙂
