Solved Application Crash dwm.exe ntdll.dll - Win 10

I think the error reads:
"The instruction in [address] reffered to [address] in RAM. The process written was not successful in the RAM. Click OK to exit the program. With the title as SystemSettings.exe - Error in the application.

After I installed windows in January I installed the chipset drivers, GPU, motherboard drivers and I think but not sure drivers from the Snappy Driver Installer but it failed and I had to restore with a system restore point. I have 2 programs from AMD. One gives me information about my CPU and the other checks for updates for my GPU and CPU/chipset driverers.

Can you post an updated Speccy url + do the following;

Download and run DriverView which you can get from here

Save the results to text and attach to your next reply for us if you will.

So I ran Driver View and updated my Speecy-URL. After that I ran Windows Update where one was found and installed.

For some reason there is only the one driver in your DriverView doc.

NB: Can you just copy/paste any future Speccy url for us and not save it as txt and attach it.

Create a new folder on you desktop, name it something like Biostar drivers then download and save to the new folder the Windows 10 x86/ 10 x64 10.013 2018-03-30 10.15 MB On-Board LAN driver from here

Create a new system restore point.

Uninstall the following Realtek network driver;

Driver Name : rt640x64.sys
Address : 00000000`25820000
End Address : 00000000`25908000

Restart the computer in Safe Mode only (No Networking).

Install the newer Realtek RTL8111H driver that you downloaded and saved to the folder on the desktop.

Restart the computer, test and then post back with an update for us.

Today I followed your steps. Post install my system seemed fine but testing first with a game after a while it crashed. Then loading up a webpage it ran fine for a couple minutes.Then the webpage went white and I had to restart my browser.
I noticed that my system still had improved <=> not as many display driver crashes and during the Safe Mode I had no problems to tell. Although I did not test during Safe Mode.

Any error messages when the game/s crashed.

Can you upload a new MTB log for us, only follow the steps that you need to from the canned info below;

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
Reset FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply.

For crashes I only have one before I tried the driver reinstall. MTB log attached. I did not see List Users, Partitions and Memory size mb I need to try again if needed

Well that didn`t work out too well as most of the log is in German :unsure:

Can you check the Device Manager for any yellow ! or red Xs and in particular for the keyboard.

Sorry but a bit confused as in your reply # 27 you said

Today I followed your steps. Post install my system seemed fine but testing first with a game after a while it crashed

But in # 29 say;

For crashes I only have one before I tried the driver reinstall.

To clarify my reply. I only had 1 bsod before I reinstalled the driver. Those game crashes I am talking about are the Application crashes like System Settings or Firefox etc. Idk wether MTB collects app crashes. Changing my system language I attached another MTB log.

The Windows Desktop Manager is shown to be closing, this can be caused by video drivers but likewise it can be caused by Windows being corrupt, the latter a possible consequence of the previous low storage space on the C: drive.

We can try the GPU drivers first, if no joy, try repairing Windows but so you are aware worse case scenario you are looking at a clean install of Windows using a 1909 ISO.

Create a new folder on the desktop, name it AMD drivers.

Download and save to the folder the drivers using the manual option info here

Download DDU from here

Create a new system restore point then run DDU and uninstall all present AMD drivers.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode only (No Networking).

Install the new GPU drivers that you saved to the folder on your desktop.

Restart the computer, test then post back with an update for us.

See Create Windows 10 installation media

As you have been running Windows 10 already you can disregard the product key info

What I would be inclined to do if you have the time, use the second option to create an ISO but then try the first option and see how it goes, when it asks, don`t keep anything as you will be less likely to have any install problems, if you do have install issues go to plan B and use your ISO and clean install.

NB: It will help if you can download and save the chipset drivers for the MB in advance, a second smaller thumbdrive etc.

Windows 10 has generic drivers that work for most devices but not the MBs chipset, download and save the drivers from here these must be installed first, if the computer is working as it should after the chipset drivers have been installed you should create a new system restore point and then download and install any Windows 10 and Defender updates, if all is still ok after doing this you should again create a new system restore point then leave well alone.

The only other drivers that you may need are for the GPU, you can get those from here hold off on installing these drivers though, they should not be installed until all of the above steps have been taken and not installed at all if the computer is working without issue.

So today I installed Windows from an iso from the Windows Media Creation Tool. Whilest installing the install wizard crashed and rebooted in the stage of creating my Account. After a while I came through the wizard. After that I shutdown the PC. As of yet I did not install the Chipset drivers.

You must manually install the chipset driver, everything you needed to do was post in my replies 34 and 36, did you not try the upgrade this PC option, not that I`m lazy or anything but if there is an easier way I will go for it.
