Okay to put this as simply as possible, here's what happened leading up to my problem:

--- I set my desktop up after it was stored away for some time.
--- I updated everything including OS, apps, and games.
--- Once I booted up one of my games it froze the entire system once the high graphics and animation. I had no choice but to perform a hard shut down.
--- I realized the system froze because I accidentally had the HDMI cable attached to the motherboard instead of the graphics card. (again). So I connected it to the correct port and started the PC.
--- The game worked just fine, but now had issues getting online.
--- Network (ethernet) claims it's connected and the troubleshooter can't find any problems. However, the browser cannot connect to the internet and instead comes back with the classic "this site can't be reached" error. Again, despite the network claiming it's connected without issues. I've tried this on both wifi and ethernet.

What I've tried so far:
-- DNS flush
-- system scan and repair using the command prompt
-- Network reset (multiple times)
-- Updating all files (OS, graphics, and network drives included)
-- Manually setting the DNS
-- Updating firewall and setting browsers as exceptions
-- Downloaded and ran a few 3rd party system repair tools
-- Can't think of any others I've tried, but I've been researching with trial and error for days with absolutely NO luck.

What's worse....I have absolutely no backup/restore point.

Should I just do a clean reinstall of Windows???

Worse thing you could ever do since some can remove files and reference points that are needed to run windows and or software properly.

Do you have a USB drive to transfer files with?

This should be your top priority.
Should you need to do a wipe and reinstall.

Complete system specs including (if desktop) make and model including for the Power Supply

If you have a computer that you can download to and transfer file to and from you can get the information by

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Open notepad and paste the link into that then save to the thumb-drive and copy and paste the information form there into the next post.

I get it. But the only software I'm using for this sort of thing is the same software I've used once (successfully) in the past as an alternate repair option since the standard Windows troubleshooting tools often tend to be inadequate. The only difference this time is that it is not working. Nothing is.

That software was used on a laptop back then, not the computer i'm currently using.

And I thought I had a restore point set for it however it has been a year-and-a-half since I've had the computer set up. When I did, I checked for a restore point and it only listed the current date. However I will go ahead and do as you've instructed and get back to you in just a moment.
