anti ransomeware free apps

I need some advice please. I am running win 7 pro 32 bit. The issue is I am getting too many ransomeware full size screens that lock out my desktop. Only solution is to restart. I use a antivirus and anti malware apps which I run when I feel is needed. I also have a third party system restore app I use in the same way. What I need is an active anti ransomeware app that detects and auto removes what it finds and auto updates as need. And it must be FREE. And it must be self contained and NOT be dependent on .net framework for the app to work. My system CANNOT accept .net version 4 even though the app requires it. Do not know why. Recommendations please. These lock out screens are FAKE MS warnings. There must be an easy way to keep them out. Is a wired internet connection better secured than free wifi my building provides? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Thanks.
