One of the most common questions people have is whether or not they are infected, and if they are indeed infected, how they should go about fixing it. This forum is designed to let you ask these questions and discuss these issues.

Posting your problem here allows more experienced and knowledgeable Members and Staff to determine if solving your problem requires additional information and whether it is actually caused by malware or by some other problem requiring a different approach. If the problem is determined to be malware related, our experienced users can determine the next course of action.

If you are having an issue and you wish to post in this forum:

You may wish to review the topic for common resolutions to non-malware related issues.

Advice given in this area is limited to non-invasive scanners or tools that create diagnostic reports. If it is determined you are infected, your topic will be moved to the Malware Removal forums for further troubleshooting. The use of any invasive Malware Removal tools, including but not limited to ComboFix, MBAM, FRST, are strictly for the use of helpers who have been trained in their use. Non-staff members are NOT permitted to post any fixes relating to these tools.

Keep in mind, this forum is open to all members to post in so you may get advice from someone not in a Staff usergroup. Please use caution when following advice from someone who does not have the PCHF Staff designation. or is listed here.
