'All BIOS settings reset to defaults' Without me doing anything

I do not know much about computers, my dad was the one who knows more than i do but he is away right now so i have turned to the internet to find a solution. So a few weeks ago, maybe a month, when i booted up the computer it said that All bios settings were reset to defaults. (I did not decide to do this) I pressed continue and it loaded up fine. Then a week later it happened again. Ever since then i have received another message similar to that. But it happened again today, but this time it said to select a boot device, all i did was enter bios settings, clicked on boot and then saved and exited. As you can see it is working know but i am afraid of what is causing it, and if it can result to anything bad.

EDIT: i forgot to mention that i also had a blue screen of death 2 weeks ago. It restarted by itself and worked fine afterwards.

EDIT 2: Could a CMOS battery failure cause it? i have seen somewhere that people have similar issues when that is running out
