I bought this cheap IDE to USB 2.0 adapter on eBay to read data off of old IDE hard disks I have. It worked great for my 20gb IBM Travelstar drive from 2001, and it worked great for my 120gb WD Caviar drive from 2003. However, when I went to read stuff from my 13.02gb Fujitsu drive from 1999, it just did a loud spin up and sounded like the heads were trying to read something, but then it just stayed spinning and my computer didn't detect it even though I had it connected the same was as I had the other 2 IDE drives. I unplugged it and played around with the jumper, and set it to all of the different jumper settings listed on the HDD label, to no avail. It also didn't show up in Disk Management or Device Manager. Does anyone know how I can retrieve data off of this drive? Or does it seem like it's failed?
