Solved 1 TB USB Drive Is Errored

there's only one way to check the sectors on a drive for errors - and that's to check each sector on the drive.
depending on the switches you pass chkdsk, you could just do a quick scan, but it won't find any errors with the drive until the time that spot on the drive gets written to - then it's too late.

with the cost of drives being so cheap, with 1TB units selling for $55 why would you even bother re-using a storage medium you can no longer trust.

I changed my USB type to NTFS to see if that will clear the issue. So far I haven't had an error >>yet<<. I'll leave my bigger files for last in case I run into the error w/ my lighter files.

PS: Please leave this open till I buy my new TB Drive or until my current one is error free.

The bigger files are going in, I'll have to let those go in over night & if it get's done, I'll let you know how it went.
Instead, I'll just get a better 1 TB drive. The one I have has a slow data transfer anyway & i'm not sure what version it is but it's not no 3.0 though. I'm not sure when I'll get to the store nor when I'll get the $ for it though.

PS: Again, leave this open till I get it & let you guys know how it works out please.

I got my 1 TB Drive today but I got cheated out of 69 GB, so instead of 1 TB I got 931 GB instead. 931 GB is enough for me. I'll make due w/ it. It came from this company> https://www.seagate.com/
I'm pretty much used to not getting the actual space size when I get USB's or external Hard Drive's. I've ran into those problem so many times I've gotten used to it.
Although I did send Seagate an email asking them why 69 GB got taken off of it. But 931 GB will do me fine.
