Hey all.

So another game, and yet another error...
i have a problem with Kingdom Come - Deliverance, when i play i get these wired black boxes that grow until the whole screen i covered by it, i don't need to restart but i need to "change" picture in-game, so i go to the inventory screen and that help for the moment.
My problem persists even in cut-scenes.

I have noticed that my problem intensify when it rains, so i guess my problem have something to do with "particles".

I updated my graphics driver earlier today.

Some updates:

So i found a post on a forum with my problem and according to that post i might have something to do with over-clocking, so this is what i have done and not succeed:

Remove OC from CPU
Did a DC (down clock) on GPU

Attached you will find a HW-monitoring log from my system while playing, i had my problem multiple times during that time.

Please observe that the attached file is a CSV file!

More updates:

i have now tried to lower, increase and in some cases turn off different graphic settings, there are major changes in graphic but my problem still persists...

One other thing the Internet is telling me is that i need to "clean my registry", is that something you guys in the staff can help me with?

Hello Evan, so i will try to get you all up to speed here, i am currently getting help from a moderator on White horse forum (white horse is the developer of the game).

Here is a link to the thread: Weird black screen problem

here is a picture series of my problem:

This is just after the save is loaded

KDC 1.JPG

This is happening after less than a minute in, sometimes it can be mere seconds sometimes it can be towards a minute before it happens:

KDC2.JPG

So, i am focusing on my belly here for that is the only picture i can get except the cross-hair blip and the compass at the top of the screen (not in this picture).
I can still hear the rain, move, and interact with people and items, i just can't see.
The only way to reset my "view" is to go into "inventory menu".

Inventory menu:

As you can see, everything looks perfect!

When i leave the inventory menu:

Looks good, everything is working...

...but everything good has an end, this is just after mere seconds:

This picture series represent circa 90 sec of gameplay.

So this is what i have done until now to fix this:

#1 Updated grapics driver.
#2 Tried diffrent grapic settings in-game
#3 Remove OC on CPU and DC (Down Clock) my GPU
#4 Deleted "shaders" directory from "save" directory
#5 Re-install grapics drivers, Clean install
#6 updated Bios on GPU
#7 clean registry with CC Cleaner.

I will now try a "clean boot"
BRB

I am sad to say that clean boot option didn't work.

i did however an stress test (benchmark) of my GPU with 3Dmark, attached are the log from GPU-Z and HWmonitor (CSV)

It only happens with this game.
Yes, i did a "factory reset" on BIOS as well.

i have now figured out it that it has to do with the rain, i have downloaded a mod that removes the rain (visual and sound) and the problem is gone-ish...

Hello Evan.

The game is running on "optimized settings" for my GPU (according to nvidia), i have however tried multiple settings ranging from "Ultra High" to "Low" and nothing helped.

I have tried "stock clock" on both CPU & GPU, however i have also tried both "Over Clocking" and "Down Clocking" both CPU (no DC on cpu) and GPU.

Howevere i am currently in contact with both GOG.com and Warhorse Studios support centers, so let's see where that is leading, for now i have fixed my issue but not the problem, i downloaded a mod, “no more rain” (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/93) and it basically do what the mod is named, it removes all sound and visuals from rain, and now i don’t get the black screen anymore, but the underlying problem is still there, if i remove the mod the black screen is back, and i would like to have rain functional in my game.

so can we put this thread "on hold" until i am "done" with the support centers?
i will report back what is happening...
