Greeting all - Again, I'm after some help
Advent Laptop 5301 (link below)

The problem is after switching the laptop off and back on, the clock has re-set it's self to factory settings. I have changed the CMOS battery without any change.
Have also changed the main battery as it was dead for some time, new one fitted and is working well.
(Has a fresh install of Vista Home premium)

Did you go into the BIOS and change the time or are you only going into Windows abd changing the time?

You do need to reset to the correct time in the BIOS and exit saving the changes.

Hello Doughnut2,

Being a fresh pair of eyes can I ask a question or two.

Is it the MBs system clock that is not keeping the correct time and date, if yes;

When you have changed the CMOS battery and reset the time and date, have you saved the new settings before exiting the BIOS.

If yest to both of the above, what is the present boot sequence in the BIOS.
