Binning and/or Runtime Errors

Not open for further replies.
Hello all,
Outspark (American gaming company) created a game called Fiesta and, before going out of business, sold the rights to Gamigo (German gaming company). Game is old, released in July 2006. Player base is making something of a comeback, two servers are becoming more active. The problem is that Gamigo either refuses to fix the bugs the game contains. Runtime errors and binning issues have been around at least 5 years. Is there a way to fix these issues on my end so they don't continue to affect my gameplay? Thanks for any help with this issue. P.S. Getting in touch with Gamigo about said problem results in nothing.

Sounds like you're asking if someone here can rewrite some old, and as you describe, suspect software. I wish you luck, but hope it's not a mission critical issue for you...

Can't rewrite the software, wish though. I'm sure even I could do better than what the company is currently doing with the game lol. I'll live, it's just frustrating when the player base takes the game more seriously than the developers do. It can be mission critical when you're one hit to finishing and you get binned. The good thing is, it's a game issue and not a system one ;) thanks for responding, gus.

Most of the older players (as in longevity in playing, not age) are saying that Gamigo sees the game now as a cash grab. Probably is, but still sort of fun to play.

Gamigo is experiencing DDoS attacks on the game servers, especially the only popular one for Fiesta. The only thing I can do is wait it out or stop playing and move to a different game. The disconnects usually happen when you are moving through game portals, or when you are about to participate in a party quest. There have been times when I was soloing and got disconnected without any runtime errors popping up. All the disconnects, regardless if a runtime error or possible DDoS, are unexpected and annoying. I've done everything I can think of on my end to try to make sure the disconnects are lessened, but unless the game developers decide to fix the game, there's not much to do to fix the problem. If there are any suggestions anyone here has to help me stay in game with fewer bins/disconnects, I'd be willing to try them. I've dumped caches and updated my C++ libraries, if there's something else I can try, please inform. Thanks :)

Here's their response from my ticket:
Thank you very much for your constructive feedback and we sincerely apologize for the unstable server issue.

We have received many similar feedbacks and forwarded to our IT department, they worked on the solution. By now the server must be stable.

If you have further questions or problems in the future, please let us know. We hope that you will continue to enjoy our game and wish you a pleasant day!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen/ Best Regards
