Solved Cyberpowerpc buzzing/grinding fan noise

Status
Not open for further replies.
All specs from out of box, problem started immediately after purchase. Noise comes and goes but is always not there at all or full volume and seems to have little or no relation to exertion of pc at that moment. Happens indefinitely while idling sometimes.

Do I just need to tighten or loosen something? Is this just what this kind of pc sounds like? Other reviews says it is quiet so I am doubting that. Thank you for any help, not much experience working inside pcs at all, and none with this model

No the PC should not sound like that and likewise if the PC is still under warranty no you shouldn't go looking to tighten anything up.

Is the computer still in warranty, if yes, have you opened a support ticket with the seller.

I have bought 17 PC's / Laptops from these guys for work and home over the last 12 years. I only had one dud and they promptly replaced it. Great customer service, use it.

Unfortunately it took until the Best Buy return policy had expired for me to be sure this wasn’t a weird fan thing (yes I’m that much of a noob). But thank you for validating my concerns here, and thankfully the manufacturer is opening a repair ticket for me so things seem on track to be fixed. Thank you for your time

I’m the opposite, never have bought a pc that worked just right so I have a skewed sense of what acceptable annoyances are. You all have convinced me this isn’t supposed to be happening so I’ve got a repair ticket open with Cyberpowerpc now. Thank you for your time

Not saying that it is okay to keep using the PC as it is and you have 100% done the correct thing by opening a support ticket with CyberPower but the fact that this has been going on so long without doing any harm suggests that the issue is nothing major, it still needs tracking down and fixing though.

You are welcome and thank you for the follow up (y)
