One USB 3.0 Port on front panel malfunctioning

I'm using all of the slots that are able to be used. There is a second x1 slot covered by the GPU, but even if it weren't covered the manual says I can't use more than one x1 slot at a time anyway. So I'd need a way to connect something to the m.2 slot, which I believe uses PCIe x4. I don't do...

One USB 3.0 Port on front panel malfunctioning

It's USB 3.0 but I'm nearly sure it was a connection problem at the 20-pin header. The 20-pin port for USB 3.0 in general is a very poor design especially when it's installed sideways rather than vertically on the motherboard, but even worse is that the port on my motherboard has a plastic shell...

One USB 3.0 Port on front panel malfunctioning

I've also realized that the speed is bad on these ports, possibly running at USB 2.0 speeds. It doesn't make much sense because it's just an extension cable from the header to the ports, no extra circuitry like a lot of USB front panels.

One USB 3.0 Port on front panel malfunctioning

The pins are all fine but maybe there is a disconnect in the traces. It's a 2.5" enclosure by Orico which uses a USB C to USB A cable.

One USB 3.0 Port on front panel malfunctioning

I have a 3rd party 5.25" front panel with two USB 3.0 ports. Each port goes to a single cable that connects to the USB 3.0 20-pin header on the motherboard. Both ports usually work fine with different USB devices. But for my hard drive enclosure, it connects fine to one of the USB 3.0 ports but...

Solved Prevent need to reset network sharing to PS3

I've finally been able to solve it with this: Create new key "EnableRebootPersistConnection" in regedit: Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedAccess Type: DWORD Setting: EnableRebootPersistConnection Value: 1 Then, change the ICS Service Startup mode to...

Solved Prevent need to reset network sharing to PS3

I use a PCIe wifi adapter for internet in my desktop PC with Windows 10. I want to share the internet connection from the wifi adapter to my ethernet port which goes to a PS3, and this works the first time I set up internet sharing. However, after I restart my computer and PS3, sharing stops...

    Threads shouldn't be closed

Just to let everyone else reading know, the two reasons provided to me for why things are how they are are #1 to prevent spam and #2 tidiness. Nothing else has been provided as to why a thread poster cannot get access to updating his own thread indefinitely. A thread poster is highly unlikely to...

    Threads shouldn't be closed

You don't say why you wouldn't support threads being open to OP though. And for a non-op poster to offer solutions or other helpful information.

    Threads shouldn't be closed

Yes that could be useful for non-OP members. And If an OP is actually trying to shill in his own thread then he was destined to be banned eventually anyway, so keep threads open to OP forever and then improve how threads can be reopened at the request of non-OP members.

    Threads shouldn't be closed

I suggest a modification to how threads are closed. Either slightly extend the time before closing, by a couple weeks, and/or allow only the OP to post in a closed thread. The OP can still post updates that help google searchers but will keep the alleged spammers from posting. The OP should...

    Threads shouldn't be closed

The thing I really dislike about this forum is how quickly threads are closed after not having the OP respond for a few days. There are two threads of mine that I want to update with my solutions which I can no longer reply to or edit because it was locked literally within a couple weeks of...

Yeah, the new cable fixed the problem, so case closed.

Every 30 minutes or so I need do disconnect and reconnect wifi

The 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs are different, but 5GHz band steering basically uses two different channels under the same SSID and the router switches the client depending on which channel it thinks is faster.
