    Unfortunately, I am unable to check that because the only PCI-E slot on the motherboard is an x8. When I plug everything in, everything starts up except for the video card.

    Alright, so I've connected my Radeon RX460 through a pci e express 1x to 16x riser card USB and I'm having trouble getting it to even work. I have Windows 7 and am using a Supermicro X7DVL-3 motherboard.

    Looks like I'm good to go! Windows 7 finished installing and I've been just running through and installing whatever updates are needed. Thanks everyone for your help! Looking forward to coming back here for all my PC troubles!

    Awesome! And is NTFS the file system I should use? THe only two options for me to format were exFat and NTFS.

    Thank you! I am also currently formatting the hard drive on another computer. Maybe that will help? Since this hard drive was originally used in an Xbox 360.

    Alright so I updated my BIOS and I'm now able to get to the Windows 7 install. Now I'm having the problem of it not recognizing my hard drive to install on. It is being recognized in BIOS, but not when trying to install OS.
