    The PC that's having the issues (MSI motherboard) isn't recognising any of the hdds at all. I've tried returning the bios settings to default and it hasn't solved the problem. I've cross checked with another PC to confirm that the W10's still boot up fine afterwards, and the W7 hdd that is...

    I have now tested 2 working windows 10 hdds in the PC, and neither of those will recognise either. Does this suggest a serious motherboard or bios issue? Re-installing windows on the hdd would be a last resort and I'd like to see if a professional could save any data beforehand.

    My next steps were to do a system restore or rebuild the boot function. But I have doubts that the restore will make any difference and I don't know how to rebuild the boot function.
