    Safe Mode doesn't change the problem. ATK has been installed. I found out somewhere that the lack of SeriallO Intell may be the cause of the issue of touchpad, however this is one of the drivers I'm unable to install as there is an information 'platform not supported'.

    The same information as before - ,,There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected". I tried downloading it again and the older version as well - still the same issue.

    Thank you for all the answers. Like you suggested, I restored Windows and installed the drivers from the ASUS side (via pendrive). I installed all the drivers that I could with the chipset at first (I could't unpack a BIOS file, some of Intel's drivers weren't appropriate for my device although...

    Thank you very much for your answer! Let me ask if I understand this clearly - what are you suggesting is installing the system all over again and then installing these drivers from external device while making sure the laptop isn't connected to the net to stop Windows Update?
