Rustys, Well I just checked the power cable for the Blue ray. Guess what it was disconnected.! It was behind another cable so hard to see, o thanks for tip. The manual pin hole method does not open the blue ray tray, The button on the tray when depressed will cause the computer to pause... -

PS I did not use the Windows media creation tool to download the WIn 7 disc to my usb. I will try that if my old computer allows it due to space and age.
