Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

I've now attached the old trackpad again. While the laptop was still open, I reached underneath to see how the "click" sensation would be and it made a way better "magnetic" feeling tactile click. Now I've closed everything up and booted up, the problem persists BUT with the old trackpad I can...

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

The only thing under the trackpad on the case is a plastic bar...I still don't actually understand how it works. This bar is the same, it's undamaged, it's really just hard plastic. Why the trackpad doesn't click beats me.

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

If anyone sees anything visually wrong just at a glance, please be my guest because this is beyond me. I'm looking at the top left of this, that's where the problem with the trackpad is. It seems slotted in correctly though.

Lol, I've already got myself a good bluetooth mouse, it's just so useful to have the trackpad sometimes. I think the best would be opening the laptop again and having a real close look at what is not normal in the trackpad area.

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

Thanks for the advice! I tried all the steps and it didn't work. Except doing a hard reset. I recently reset this laptop and reinstalled Win10, part of the reason was that I thought it might help with the trackpad issue (which has been around for quite a few months now), but unfortunately the...

To be honest it feels as though a screw should be tightened somewhere - but there are no more screws, so it can't be the case. Unless there's somehow an issue with the motherboard itself...because as I said, a new trackpad and a new case means that it can't be either of those. I should note...

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

When I push the bottom-left there is a click sensation, but this is not registered on the laptop itself. So I'm just clicking this thing and nothing happens. I can't drag and drop, for example. The only type of "click" that works is the one where I lightly tap the touchpad anywhere, not on the...

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

Just to be clear - the tactile "click" seems to be there now. But it doesn't actually do anything when I click (See video: ). So the "tap" click anywhere on the trackpad works, but the actual normal "push" click still doesn't. (Also they sent me the keyboard with Hebrew letters, not sure why...

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

I've assembled...and the problem persists. Now I'm truly confused - if I replaced the trackpad and the case it leans on, how can this problem still be there the exact same way it was with the old trackpad and old case?

It arrived, and I'm re attaching the case right now. The video is super helpful, thanks @PeterOz . It's very tricky, I'm currently struggling with getting #1 of these two cables back on. I got #2 back on with a light pressure on the top with a small metal tool, as in the video screenshot, but #1...

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

How can I try the pad without - would I plug it in without the surround and turn on the laptop? I'm quite sure it's the right model - the problem is exactly the same as the other one had which indicates an issue with the surround rather than the trackpad itself

Pending OP Response ASUS Zenbook UX310U Trackpad permanently indented and doesn't tactile-click - what can I do to fix?

Yes, thanks, the video will be very helpful! I think that I could do it - I guess I will order the new keyboard part of the case and see if it fixes my problem.
