    Hard drive has gone missing from Disk Management

    I just tried Chkdsk D: and got this error: chkdsk cannot open volume for direct access So from what I have read, the DBR (DOS Boot Record) of the hard drive is corrupted. Is this true? Can anything be done to repair it?
