    The DP cable is new and I chose one which seems to be good quality. I guess I need to play around with the monitor settings to see.

    I'm not at home but the monitor definitely has a menu. I used it to switch between HDMI and DP. Looking at the manual online I can see that it's possible to change Hz settings. The manual is here if you want to look. Menu settings are on pages 26-18...

    I've recently bought a new PC and monitor. It works fine with HDMI but with the Direct Port I only get a desktop without icons and the mouse and keyboard don't work. Any help would be appreciated.
