Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

Ran "CHKDSK /F F:" from the bootable usb. Now no errors were found. Even the file system after USN Journal didn't find any errors. Issue remains unresolved

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

The CHKDSK I ran over night returned with "The volume bitmap is incorrect." and "Windows found problems with the file system.". Running CHKDSK /F didn't fix the problems. I dug around quite a bit more and managed to consistently hang the computer in safe mode by opening a specific file. So...

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

Tried that, however I can't do it because running sfc /scannow gives "There is a pending system repair... Need reboot..." Will now run CHKDSK over night. Will go to bed now. Thanks for your help today. Will report back tomorrow. I really think my SSD is the issue, too.

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

This didn't work unfortunately. Same error. Btw unticking some boxes in the AutoStart did improve things a little bit as I now can consistently get onto the desktop in non-safe mode. This was not possible before (only on rare occasion I somehow managed to do it by waiting enough). But from the...

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

Dug around quite a bit. Didn't freeze. Ok, it's running now. But it repeatedly halts and slows down the computer at 40%. (It's not a freeze since the mouse still moves. But I can't open "Computer" anymore, or any folders in the start menu... Everything is super slow and doesn't open)

How long does CHKDSK take? It seems to halt at 40 percent in phase 2.

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

I reseated and dusted off the video card. I have a second SSD installed with a Unix system on it. It works as intended. The SMART test of the SSD where the operating system (Win 7) is on gives all green lights. One of the hard disks gives the warning "Current Pending Errors Count" 200, where...

Yes everything is fine in safe mode. I already dusted off the RAM and reseated them. Will do the same with the video card now. Will be back

Booting up windows 7 after 1 year. Everything is unusuably slow

After one year I'm trying to boot my windows 7 computer, and I run into issues I never had (NO issues back in September 2015): The login screen freezes as soon as a key is pressed on the login screen. Mouse is still movable. Wait 10 minutes and the computer is reacting again. Enter password...
