    I just tried vga and it worked, so out of interest I tried the hdmi again and that now works also, so I hate to admit but the hdmi must have just been a bit loose , but it all seems to be working at the moment so hopefully it's all sorted, and thank you all so much for all your help!     This was all done with the built in video card, I had just the hdmi plugged in at the time and yes it comes up with a no signal message, I will see if I can have use of a friends pc to test the monitors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Okay I take it back, I tried it the next day and it's gone back to the 'no signal' issue, I'm just going to assume it's down to the motherboard being fault and will be getting a replacement and seeing how that works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
